Burial Chamber

Burial Chambers are early-game dungeons found in the Black Forest. They contain Skeleton enemies, treasure chests, and valuable crafting materials such as Surtling Cores. Exploring Burial Chambers is essential for unlocking metal progression.

📍 Overview

Biome Black Forest
Structure Type Dungeon (Instanced Interior)
Main Enemies Skeleton, Rancid Remains, Ghost
Key Loot Surtling Core, Amber, Rubies, Coins

Burial Chambers are one of the first true dungeon experiences in Valheim.

🗺 How to Find Burial Chambers

  • Found randomly throughout the Black Forest.
  • Identified by stone entrances with glowing green torches.
  • Often partially embedded into hillsides or rocky terrain.
  • May contain a Vegvisir rune revealing the location of The Elder.

Exploring multiple chambers is often required to gather enough Surtling Cores.

👹 Enemies Inside

Enemy Threat Level Notes
Skeleton Low–Moderate Weak to Blunt damage
Rancid Remains Moderate Stronger elite Skeleton variant
Ghost Moderate Resistant to some physical damage

Bringing a blunt weapon such as a club or mace makes these encounters much easier.
