Black Forest
The Black Forest is the second biome in Valheim. It introduces significantly tougher enemies, dangerous dungeons, and valuable metal resources — marking the true beginning of structured progression.

- Summoned using Ancient Seed x3 at the ritual altar
- Unlocks the Swamp progression tier

- Establish a forward outpost rather than moving your main base immediately.
- Bring a Shield to handle Greydwarf groups.
- Prioritize collecting Surtling Core early to unlock smelting and charcoal production.
- Mine copper and tin systematically — copper veins extend underground.
