Crafting Station Type Metal Gear Crafting
Can Be Upgraded? Yes

The Forge must be placed under a roof and inside a partially enclosed structure to function.

🔨 Crafting the Forge

Material Amount
Stone 4
Coal 4
Wood 10
Copper 6

Copper must first be smelted using a Smelter.

⚒ What the Forge Crafts

The Forge is used for:

  • Bronze weapons and armor
  • Iron weapons and armor
  • Silver-tier gear
  • Shields and metal tools
  • Upgrading metal equipment

Later tiers such as Mistlands gear require the Black Forge instead.

⬆ Forge Upgrades

Forge level increases by placing upgrade pieces nearby.

Upgrade Piece Materials Required Effect
Anvil Wood 5, Bronze 10 +1 Forge Level
Forge Cooler Fine wood 10, Copper 6 +1 Forge Level
Bellows Wood 10, Deer hide 4, Chain 4 +1 Forge Level
Grinding Wheel Sharpening Stone 1, Wood 25 +1 Forge Level
Smith's Anvil Iron 20, Wood 5 +1 Forge Level

Higher forge levels allow upgrading gear to maximum quality.

🏗 Placement Tips

  • Keep Forge near Smelter and storage.
  • Place all upgrade pieces within radius.
  • Build inside main base for easy repairs.
  • Consider separate metal workshop areas.

Rain exposure will disable the Forge.

⚠ Common Mistakes

  • Forgetting shelter requirements.
  • Not placing all upgrade pieces close enough.
  • Underestimating metal needed for upgrades.
  • Smelting far from crafting area.

Iron-tier progression especially benefits from organized layout.

🛠 Strategy Tips

  • Upgrade weapons first before full armor sets.
  • Increase Forge level early to maximize durability.
  • Build dedicated smelting + forge rooms.
  • Stockpile coal before large crafting sessions.

Efficient Forge setup dramatically improves mid-game progression speed.
