Stone Golem
The Stone Golem is a powerful mini-boss tier enemy found in the Mountains. It has extremely high durability and hits hard, making it one of the most dangerous non-boss threats in the biome.
π Overview
| Biome | Mountains |
|---|---|
| Type | Elite Enemy (Mini-Boss Tier) |
| Health | Very High |
| Tameable | No |
| Drops | Crystal, Stone Golem Trophy |
π Spawning
Stone Golems spawn in the Mountains, typically:
- On rocky slopes and ridgelines
- Near steep cliffs and large stone formations
- In open snowfields with exposed rock
They can sometimes appear partially blended into the terrain, making them easy to miss until they wake and attack.
βοΈ Behaviour
Stone Golems are slow but extremely dangerous at close range.
They:
- Use heavy melee punches and slam attacks.
- Have long reach and strong knockback.
- Pursue players steadily across terrain.
- Can trap players against cliffs or rocks.
They do not use ranged attacks, but their durability and damage make them lethal.
π Combat Strategy
- Avoid fighting on steep slopes to reduce stamina drain.
- Use dodge rolls to avoid slam attacks.
- Keep distance and re-engage between attack windows.
- Bring high durability weapons and repair supplies.
- Consider disengaging if other threats (Wolves, Drakes) are nearby.
This fight is a stamina and patience check more than a burst-damage encounter.
β Weaknesses
Stone Golems are most effectively dealt with using **pickaxe-type damage**.
Recommended tools:
- Iron Pickaxe or better
Standard melee weapons are significantly less effective due to high resistance and durability.
π Drops
| Item | Use |
|---|---|
| Crystal | Crafting crystal building pieces and certain items |
| Stone Golem Trophy | Decoration |
Crystal is a valuable late-midgame resource, making Stone Golems worth hunting when prepared.
β Threat Level
Stone Golems are one of the most dangerous enemies in the Mountains due to:
- Very high health and resistances.
- Heavy knockback and burst damage.
- Difficulty fighting while managing freezing and terrain.
New players should avoid engaging until they have reliable frost protection and solid stamina food.
